Victory, a young girl from a rural community share with pride how she has become phenomenal and versatile. Joining a youth hub in her district has been a life-changing experience. “
I very much like the hub approach as it has made me a rounded person – I am an advocate, a community journalist and an entrepreneur,” she shares with pride.
With balancing these roles, she has also improved in her time management, communication, and leadership skills. “
I have to cope being a Community Journalist, an entrepreneur, a mass server at the Catholic Church and also a student who is studying privately to better my science grade to enable me to pursue a degree in nursing at the University for Development Studies,” she explains.
The hub has given her the discipline, platform and confidence to pursue her dreams while making an impact in her community.
Victory gathers and writes stories on detrimental issues in her district, disseminates it on social media and radio for public attention and stakeholder actions.
She also doubles as youth advocate in her community encouraging other young people to be responsible and active citizens for change.
YEFL – Ghana under the Empowerment for Life Programme is working with its youth hubs model across 10 districts in northern Ghana as a holistic approach to youth organizing, mobilization and empowerment.
