GoAdapt logo-02_edited.png
Purpose

The purpose of the intervention is a) to support an inclusive climate adaptation planning process from community level to district level, feeding into the National Adaptation Plan to be finalized in 2024 and b) to strengthen the adaptive capacity and resilience of smallholder farmers in vulnerable communities in Northern Ghana.

This will be done in various ways:

  • Youth climate reporters and environmental brigades will mobilize communities on climate change issues.

  • Farmers will get an understanding of the National Adaptation Planning process and related policies, and engage local authorities on this.

  • Districts will have increased capacity to plan and implement adaptation strategies, and civil society will be able to track adaptation programs and document climate challenges for Northern Ghana.

  • Farmers will conduct climate vulnerability assessments and increase their resilience through the adoption of strategies and climate-smart technologies.

It is a 2,5 years project that was launched in July 2023.
