WHAT WE DO
Youth Empowerment
We bring young people together to rediscover their talents whilst we encourage them to harness their potentials and use their energies productively. We do this by creating opportunities and space for the young people in their community.
Youth & Media for Development
We help the youth to develop their communicative capacities for engagement with development actors. We train them on the use of communication tools to fight injustices in their communities. We link them to appropriate media channels to enable them to participate in development discussions.
Economic empowerment is a cornerstone to us. We have trained young entrepreneurs for the past 6 years. Based on the experience we developed a methodology for working with entrepreneurs. You can learn more and access all the materials here.
Youth, Culture & Arts
This approach empowers the youth to use culture and arts to promote cultural identity, bridge the north – south divide and improve the participation and inclusion of the youth in governance. Our approach also recognizes the economic opportunities in arts and therefore supports the artists to be entrepreneurial in their journey
Youth & Sport for Development
Sports is used as an effective tool for development. We engage the youth in sporting activities, which holds virtues and values such as patience, tolerance, respect for others, equal rights, participation, health, sharing, peace and unity which are necessary ingredients for development.
Youth & Climate
We recognize that the youth holds the future of climate and would be the most impact group. Our approach therefore empowers the youth to engage in climate policy advocacy, raising awareness and serving as community environmental brigades with the right tools and platforms to protect the environment. We also recognize agriculture as a viable business venture for young people, we therefore empower the youth to engage in the agribusiness value chain in a more environmentally sustainable manner
WHO WE ARE
YEFL-Ghana empowers youth through engagements, networks, information sharing and capacity building to lead change.

YEFL-Ghana was registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in January 2010, after it had been piloted as a program by Youth Action on Reproductive Order (YARO) in partnership with Ghana Friendship (GV) in Denmark. The organisation emerged from a youth forum concept that was started as an activity by GV in cooperation with their partner Ghana Development Community Association (GDCA) in 2005. The youth forum was used as a platform for youth to engage in intellectual discourse on development matters affecting them in diverse ways.
