Francisca’s journey to being an Entre-Big-nuer.

Francisca Mbataah, a young entrepreneur from the Tatale district. She was running a modest snack business where sales were small, resources were limited, and her dream of growing into a recognized food entrepreneur felt far away. But things changed significantly after she joined YEFL’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in 2024 under the E4L phase IV. Equipped with new knowledge in business management, financial literacy, and innovation, Francisca transformed her small venture into a registered food enterprise. Today, her business is not only branded but also equipped with modern machinery, including a soya processing machine she acquired with support from the District Department of Agriculture. She proudly reflects:

I attribute my growth to the knowledge and skills acquired through the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp and the equipment support from the District Department of Agriculture, which has recognized my business potential.

Francisca’s success is not an isolated case. She is one of 78 young people forming part of 155 youth across the 10 E4L implementing districts to have started and expanded businesses with YEFL’s support under the E4L program. Her story shows how targeted entrepreneurship training and financial support can unlock the potential of young people, turning their ideas into thriving enterprises.

the increasing adoption of digital cost management tools adds another perspective to quantity surveyor course development. some external industry resources discuss automation and data-driven estimating, yet long-term effects on traditional surveying methods remain underexplored. future competency requirements could evolve more quickly than expected.
